The Valencia CF coach previews Friday’s game against Sevilla FC
Valencia CF lost against Girona FC (0-3) in the match of the 37th LALIGA EA Sports matchday played at Camp de Mestalla.
Valencia CF took the pitch determined to try to get three points in the last match of the season at Mestalla. However Girona FC took the lead on the half hour mark with a goal from Savinho, who finished off a cross from the right.
Our team tried to respond immediately and just a minute after the goal Sergi Canós had the clearest chance for Valencia CF in the first half to try to score the equalizer. The winger from Nules received the ball practically at the back of the defense and executed a cross shot that hit the post.
Before the break, Mamardasvhili again made one of his great saves, keeping a firm hand down to deflect a shot close to the post and prevent the 0-2 in the 45th minute. After the break, Valencia CF came out with energy and ambition in search of an equalizer and tried again with a header from Alberto Marí that went just over the crossbar.
From a possible 1-1 draw, the score became 0-2. Dovbyk would finish off an attacking move by Girona FC that would seal the match in 58'. Although Valencia CF had clear chances throughout the match but they lacked a little bit of accuracy and in 67' the Catalan team scored the 0-3.
In the final minutes, Girona FC committed a penalty on Thierry and Pepelu, from the eleven meters, reduced the distance with an accurate shot to the back of the net.
Valencia CF, after this defeat, will try to get back to winning ways next Saturday against RC Celta de Vigo.
